Hi, welcome to my little spot on the World Wide Web, this is where you will find images that I am willing to share and of course sell prints for you to have. My name is Scott and I am using the name Izmir Photography to represent my artwork. I chose Izmir because it is a beautiful city in the country of Turkey, which is where part of my ancestry is from.
I chose Photography, because the images I take is mostly digital, and can be printed on paper, film, plastic or any other solid or semi-solid item basically any media that a photographic image can be printed on. Media can also be purely digital, meaning it can be displayed as an image on the web, or on a computer, or any other electrical device that can display an image. Media can also be a three-dimensional object made in the rendition of the image taken. An example of a three-dimensional object would be Mount Rushmore or even the Roman and Greek statues.
When I use film, I exclusively shoot black and white, and I use TMAX or Tri-X film, both of which are from Kodak. I love the response and feel that Tri-X film gives when printed on paper. I can take digital images in black and white, but there is something special about film. Tri-X film was the first black and white film that I used followed by TMAX. Tri-X is the film in which I learned a lot about working with existing light and in conditions that are not ideal for a photographer.
I take images because I am a horrible painter, and sculpture both of which are art forms that I am far from mastering. I also take images because I can manipulate the images to the way I like them to look. It is far easier for me to edit an image than it is to sculpt a statue or paint a picture. It is also the only way that I can have something to represent a lot of my art, quickly, in the moment.
I have been exposed to a considerable amount of culture and art thanks to my family who has provided me the opportunity to live and travel in different countries around the world as a child. As an adult, I take every opportunity to travel, which is something everyone should do.
